This attractive bicycle route through Twente takes you through a characteristic scenic landscape of hedgerows, rolling fields and small streams. You cycle along quiet country roads and forest paths, interspersed with vistas to meadows and authentic farms. From the surroundings of Zenderen you soon find yourself in the typical Twente countryside, where silence and nature go hand in hand.
On the way you pass villages like Hertme, Harbrinkhoek and Saasveld, with their church towers and village greens that still exude the atmosphere of yesteryear. Here and there old watermills or historic farmhouses pop up, sometimes hidden among the trees.
Further west, the route meanders past the picturesque Tusveld and the ashes around Bornerbroek, where the landscape becomes more expansive. Open plains here are interspersed with dense forests, making every kilometer feel different.
