Cycling through small villages and past large fruit orchards.
From De Zoelense Beemd this bicycle route starts in the beautiful surroundings of Gelderland. This time not towards Tiel, but along a pleasant village like Erichem. You will ride past fruit orchards that show their beautiful blossoms in the spring or delicious fruit in the fall. Erichem even has one of the larger organic vineyards in the Netherlands. The grape vines are specially selected to grow on the Betuwe river clay and in our Dutch climate. Buren is home to the Prince of Orange, a tall windmill that served as a grist mill. The mill was built in 1716 to replace an earlier mill. Buren is also home to the Marechaussee Museum. Zoelmond is also an attractive place to cycle through. You will also pass the old sand extraction site De Molenkampen, which is now a nature reserve under development. After Buurmalsen you cycle over the river De Linge into the municipality of Geldermalsen. If you have not yet taken a break then this is definitely the time. Much of the village lies along De Linge. Many fruit orchards along the dikes are beautiful to see when in bloom. This route offers tranquility and the most beautiful views combined with a choice of picturesque villages. In the tea garden of De Zoelense Beemd you can reminisce about this special environment.
