Through the beautiful surroundings of dunes you will cycle to Schoorl. Then you ride parallel to the Noordhollandschkanaal. In the summer of 1819 the digging, with a shovel, of this canal began. It had a length of 80 kilometers, was 40 meters wide at the water table and a depth of 6 to 7 meters. After about 5 years it was finished and was known as the widest and deepest canal in the world.
