Het smalspoor op zijn mooist in een natuurlijke omgeving. Vanuit het museumgebouw vertrekt u met de smalspoortrein voor een tocht grotendeels over het originele traject dat vroeger gebruikt werd voor turftransport. Er wordt regelmatig gestopt en uitleg gegeven. Ook bezoekt u de enige nog werkende turfstrooiselfabriek in ons land. In het museumgebouw kunt u kijken naar treinen, oud gereedschap en machines die vroeger in het veen gebruikt werden. ook een bezoekje aan de remise en locomotievenloods zijn zeker de moeite waard. De kinderen kunnen zich vermaken met het waterspel, een puzzeltocht of een eigen machinistendiploma halen. Na afloop is het goed toeven in het Dommerscafé.
